Abby De Shazo

Senior Analyst

Abby came to Galileo with a passion for problem-solving and a robust background in qualitative research in the healthcare and life science space. She began her career as an analyst at a UX strategy firm, where she focused on enhancing the patient user experience. Prior to this, she collaborated with a professor at the UCLA School of Public Health on multiple grant proposals analyzing behavioral trends among patients and nursing staff.

Abby maintains a multidisciplinary approach when understanding the world around her, which is particularly valuable when exploring complex healthcare dynamics. This approach was inspired by her undergraduate thesis on how schemas can impact biases within U.S. healthcare, and then carried over seamlessly into her contributions at UCLA, where she explored how emotional connection can lead to better health outcomes for patients. Abby has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, with an emphasis on ethics and epistemology, from Claremont McKenna College.

Outside of work, Abby loves spending time outdoors with friends and family — in particular, she loves supporting her 12-year-old brother who is a rising tennis star.
